"Large feathered and flowered head piece by Halston@BERGDORF GOODMAN. Circa 1965/66.
Experimental hat done for editorial purpose for HARPERS shoot. Halston did many hats to go w clothing that the editors of the major fashion magazines such as Vogue, Harpers Bazaar and others . He did hats for other designers to walk their runways before becoming a fashion designer himself.
After doing his first collection at BERGDORF GOODMAN, he moved on to creating hi amazing ascent as AMERICA'S FIRST COUTURIER. He was my first mentor, I am proud to say, and launched my 50 year long career in the fashion industry. He was a most generous, caring, artist, mentor, and always had my best interest in mind. I will forever be grateful to him an he is forever in my heart.
