Large feathered and flowered head piece by Halston @ BERGDORF GOODMAN. Circa 1965/66.
Experimental hat done for editorial purpose for HARPERS shoot. Halston did many hats to go with clothing that the editors of the major fashion magazines such as Vogue, Harpers Bazaar and others. He did hats for other designers to walk their runways before becoming a fashion designer himself.
After doing his first collection at BERGDORF GOODMAN, he moved on to creating his amazing ascent as AMERICA'S FIRST COUTURIER. He was my first mentor, I am proud to say, and launched my 50 year long career in the fashion industry. He was a most generous, caring artist and mentor, and always had my best interest in mind. I will forever be grateful to him and he is forever in my heart.
